It wouldn’t be the first time. I mean, you really want to do your homework.

I did what I thought was my due diligence before I tried Erexa. I called Atlas Operations and talked to the rep. I read the label. I took a dose and enjoyed the result. I almost blogged about it. Glad I didn’t tell anyone to try it. It was tainted.

Rock Hard Weekend had a similar recall in November of 2009. I admit, I did recommend Rock Hard Weekend. Sorry, but my lab is still getting set up. http://www.rockhardweekend.com/recall.php
http://www.fda.gov/Safety/MedWatch/SafetyInformation/SafetyAlertsforHumanMedicalProducts/ucm191052.htm

“Stiff Nights” was also recalled in November. http://www.physorg.com/news176664344.html

And Staminil. http://www.schmidtandclark.com/staminil-capsules-recall-lawsuit

I tried most of those products. I measured success, but lab tests were out of the question. Lab tests cost a fortune. So, here is my suggestion: After you read the ingredients and do your best to make sure they aren’t just interested in stealing your money…that is, they look legit with real addresses, phone numbers and city business licenses…no complaints at the Better Business Bureau, run an internet search for “that brand” and “recall.”

Better still, don’t expect someone else to create a pill to solve your ED. Get a physical. Get yourself in shape. Make sure your partner is interested in fondling your penis and turning you on in other ways. Great sex shouldn’t be up to a pill!

Also, watch your diet. Stay away from fatty foods, alcohol and cigarettes. They reduce the circulation that you need for an erection.

And one more thing…. Go to www.RateAphrodisiacs.com. Read up on healthy aphrodisiacs. Be patient. The quick stuff just isn’t natural. It could give you more than an erection. It could cause a heart attack.

If you have taken the above medications and have suffered a reaction, contact a lawyer.

Who is Nutrasci?

Nutrasci is has been rolling out a line of men’s supplements and taking out large ads in at least one San Diego newspaper. Two of them are clearly the same product with a different label, Aspire 36 and Vazopren. (I have their products here in my office.) The offer is the same; recieve a free trial by calling the toll-free hotline. The newest offering is Vasutra, claiming to use a new fast absorbing technology that “goes to work immediately!” (Emphasis is not mine.)

Vazopren, Aspire and Vasutra promise what men want to hear: “Taking sex to a whole new level.” “Sex on demand.” “Starts working within minutes.” “Keeps working 36-48 hours, guaranteed!” “Reduces recovery time to mere minutes.” “Satisfaction guaranteed.” “Free…” Not only are these words what men want to hear about sex, these phrases have been so successful for Nutrasci that they are using them almost formulaically on each quarter page ad with a sultry female desirously staring at the Nutrasci’s camera.

But who is Nutrasci? Nutrasci doesn’t have a website we could find. Palo Alto Labs seems to be one of their companies. The ingredients of Vazopren, Vasutra or Aspire36 can be found but not in the ads and not necessarily on their site. (I have divulged them at rateaphrodisiacs.com.) And why do they not tell the whole story? That you can’t qualify for a free bottle unless you sign up for a monthly supply and the free bottle requires a shipping fee as high as $13.98.

I got my “free bottle” from Nutrisci but they sent the wrong thing. Trying to settle that, I started getting monthly shipments and being charged $49.95 plus $4.99 shipping even before I had a chance to try the product I had ordered. (Later, I found the product online elsewhere for $33.99 but still, my rating for Vazopren is not that great.) To be fair, their customer service department did work with me to cancel the automatic shipments and billing, but not before they had collected just short of $69.00 and I won’t even bother finishing the bottle of Vazopren it was so non-effectual.

Nutrisci has learned that it clearly pays to sell men products they hope will give them more hot sex. But the money piles in by also making the men find the phone number, call and cancel the nearly $55.00 per month automatic shipments, as in my case. They fulfill their guarantee of satisfaction…except that they won’t refund your money.* Perhaps it is their satisfaction they are guaranteeing. In the meantime, they just collect.

Also be careful about the add-ons including hard porn DVD’s (from DVD Entertainment) and a female lubricant jelly. Before you know it, these will be coming to your door as well, automatically and with more calls to other numbers to get cancelled. The DVD’s I accepted for a mere $1 trial, were not delivered timely, like the first order of Vazopren, and had I not written down the number to cancel when I ordered, I don’t think I would have been able to track down the sender, even though DVD Entertainment had my credit card for automatic shipments. Buyer beware. Ripoffreport.com offers a similar story.

*Don’t take my word for it. Here is the “small print” directly from the Vazopren website “Vazopren™ purchased through the free trial offer and subsequent continuity plan are exempt from this 30 day guarantee. Customers must cancel subsequent shipment prior to continuity orders being shipped. Any continuity order shipped is non-refundable.” The terms are very similar on the Aspire36 website.

Vazopren.com’s customer service email address is support@nutrasci.org, but nutrasci.org is not a working website. I guess that makes sense.

Aphrodisiacs of Talk

Aphrodisiacs of Talk

Sometimes, and possibly more often than we would like to admit, the biggest hindrance to being fully sexual is in our heads. A pill can sometimes override that hindrance and help us perform in bed like there was nothing in the way. If that is the case, is the sex pill then purely a placebo effect? If I thought that is all it is, I would call this blog “What Placebos for Sex Work.” Instead I named it "What Aphrodisiacs Work" which is not to say that what is in our heads is not sometimes inhibiting and sometimes enhancing our full sexual expression.

What goes on in our heads is communicated in many ways, leading up to and during sex. Communication is a vital part of what works for sex and what doesn’t. I mean, how many times just in your history, let alone the history of sex, has miscommunication screwed up an intimate moment or rendezvous? Or how often have good communications had a hand in getting laid? Good communications are so vital to a good sex life that even the sellers of sex pills use the tools of language to get us in the mood for over-the-top sex.

Most everybody interested in sex wants to learn what to say and what to wrap their heads around to improve their sex lives. For untold eons, sex started with communicating desire, rather than taking a sex pill. For example, my wife and I have discovered certain things that the other says can turn us on, raise the heat or get us interested in some time alone in bed. What works for us won't necessarily work for you, but there are a few basic rules of thumb.

Ever since John Gray wrote "Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus," we all know that men and women come to sexuality with different needs and hopes. When we can speak to the needs and wishes of our partner, they can more easily get turned on. For instance, a man, generally speaking, wants to hear that he is manly, that he turns her on, that his penis is big and satisfies her. Prostitutes will use words of this sort to turn a man on quickly. Smart women do the same and turn her man into a love machine.

On the other hand, a woman wants to hear (sincerely, not as a line) that she is attractive and sexy; she wants to feel that she is safe and can relax; she wants to sense that he cares for her. Recent lab tests show that for a woman to climax, the most important thing that has to happen in her brain is to relax. (Reported in Men’s Health, 10 Lessons about Her Orgasm) To be clear, women do want sex as much as men, but they want different things from it than men and need to "hear" a different message than men.

I think men would pay as much as $100 a pop for the pill that makes them say the right things that will turn a woman on. For us, it is a struggle to think of romantic and connective conversation. But the solution doesn't cost $100 a pill. All he has to do is ask her, or other women, what turns them on. Then he has to remember and time it to his best advantage. It is a clear step by step solution. I just read a piece in Men's Health, "Seduce her in 10 minutes" http://www.menshealth.com/mhlists/sexual_attraction_and_seduction/index.php, which is faster than any so called sex pill can claim. These 7 clear points are all ways that communicate desireability, as seen by a woman.

Sex pills and sex talk go hand in hand for increased sexual desire. Both are aphrodisiacs. Sex talk for many of us is not easy because it is more process oriented than goal oriented. But even with taking a goal oriented sex pill that increases your desire, do the process too, if it helps your partner. Give them the gift of sex talk, for best results, administer this aphrodisiac more than 30 minutes beforehand. Given daily, it's like a sex supplement that pays off in the short and long term.

Roaring Tiger Fiasco

Roaring Tiger is a male sex supplement offered by RT Naturals, LLC. That is a fact. It is also a fact that the lure used is a poor excuse if the product is worth all they charge for it. ($49.95 plus 6.95 shipping)

No doubt marketing experts have put their wammy on the Roaring Tiger sales pitch. It starts out suggesting a free sample of 8 pills for only $1.99 to cover shipping. They did not make it clear to me when ordering my free sample that I was signing up for another shipment in 10 days of 28 pills for 49.95 plus shipping that are non-returnable. Okay, so perhaps I didn't read the fine print. That can happen.

But what irked me more was the process required to remove me from the automatic shipping program I didn't know I was on. First I went to the Roaring Tiger site to log in to my account. Luckily, I had written down the information to log in. There was nowhere in my account preferences to discontinue the shipments. There was no mention of my obligation. After searching all over, the only option seemed to be contacting the customer service personnel. It was not suggested to do that to discontinue shipments, but it seemed my only option.

I got a response from Roaring Tiger in my yahoo email box. The instruction was to send them an email "***If you still wish to cancel your Preferred Customer account please send a blank email from the address associated with your account to cancel@roaringtiger.com, and follow the simple instructions sent to you in reply."

Oddly enough, the email in response to my cancellation request said, "THIS EMAIL IS NOT CONFIRMATION OF YOUR ACCOUNT CANCELLATION" After reading 4 points about all the benefits I would lose by cancelling, it gave me instructions to "simply login to your customer account at RoaringTiger.com , click on the 'Preferred Program' tab, and click 'Cancel Program'. That tab had not allowed me to do this before, but the obstacles were not yet finished.

In order to cancel, I went to their website and logged into my account. I found the "Preferred Program" tab, but I could not just click "Cancel"; they required me to enter a reason first. Finally, they confirmed my desire to stop the shipments.

The dosage is another problem with Roaring Tiger. This time, it's their math. The automatic shipments are "1 month's supply" but the dosage just doesn't add up. They ship 28 capsules. Their "recommended use for men: Initial loading 1 - 3, or until benefits are noticed: take 2 capsules twice daily with a full glass of water. Maintenance: 1 -2 capsules once or twice daily." How does one or two capsules once or twice daily (they must have forgotten the loading of 1-3 capsules until benefits are noticed) add up to 28 capsules in an average 30 day month???

I wish the slick presentation on the Roaring Tiger homepage represented professionalism. It sure looks like that. But it represents professionals that have their interests at heart first and foremost with little concern for the people sending them money in good faith. I don't need to tell you what kind of professionals those are.

Trial of Extendium Completed

In late May, I received a month's supply of Extendium by Pure Vive Health Sciences. The formula of Eurycoma longifolia, Damiana leaf and Horny goat weed seemed promising. I delayed starting because another product was in current (personal) trials, and it had been giving me some side effects. So I had started Jenasol Libido Activator on and off and I never got over the sore throat that came quickly on the heals of swallowing the Jenasol product.

Now it was time for Extendium, which promised "beyond belief fun and exhilaration" in the flyer they sent. I will admit, it was a good formula. It seemed to give me a light boost with use over 25 days. On www.rateaphrodisiacs.com, I rated it a 3.5. So, it wasn't a total waste and I suspect it may be better or worse for others, but it probably rates further exploration if you haven't yet found the perfect aphrodisiac.

Since Extendium, I have also tried Kong, an herbal performance formula I found on evitamins.com. I liked the mix of herbs and the assurances that it contained no pesticides, preservatives or steroids. The pills were almost Kong size and they gave me the same sore throat I got from Jenasol's formula. Oddly, the only ingredients that were similar were "non active ingredients" Dicalcium phosphate and croscarmellose sodium. My log says I had a sore throat after taking the pills for two days and the soreness stopped the day after I stopped taking them.

Extendium comes out on top of this post, but it is still not the powerhouse that RockHard Weekend is. But Rockhard Weekend has given me the assurance that there are probably other formulas as good. I am testing one now that is less expensive and has had a similar success. More on that later.

The 3 Day Weekend Pill, RockHard

One of the main reasons for this blog is to share what works in terms of aphrodisiac sex pills. These are made soley of natural herbs, minerals, vitamins and essences, not some formula cooked up in a multinational pharmaceutical lab.

My wife and I have been experimenting with several formulas. I don’t suffer from ED, but I still remember the days of being 19 and imagine Nature might be able to help me relive that. So we thought it would be fun to try out some natural aphrodisiac pills, share our results with friends and with others online that are suffering some stress in their sex lives, whatever the reason.

We have enjoyed the mild effects of a few herbal remedies such as Cherry Popp, Jaxi Strips and a regular diet of health supplements. But this last weekend, we tried a product that truly amazed us. We got a little wild and crazy over it, spending hours and hours making love. The product is Rockhard Weekend. It is the priciest sex pill we have tried so far and I purchased one only as a trial. The result was pure enjoyment.

Rockhard Weekend is manufactured by Rockhard Laboratories, a registered LLC in Atlanta, Georgia. Contact information on their website is limited to a phone line and an email address. (I did track down their legal address, however.) Also curiously absent on the website is the list of ingredients, although I did find them on Vitacost.com and the product label: horny goat weed (epimedium 10%) cordycaps extract 7%, white willow bark, bombyx mori extract, ginger root, oyster extract, green coffee bean extract, vinpocentine, schizandra berry, rehmannia root, vitamin b3 (niacin), Korean ginseng, wolfberry extract. I have to know what I am taking first.

Vinpocentine seems to be the only non-100% natural ingredient; it is a semisynthetic derivative alkaloid, derived from the periwinkle plant. It has some minor side effects and an adverse reaction in a small subset of users. Marketed as a vasodilator for memory improvement, vinpocentine is available over the counter in health food stores and a low initial dosage is recommended.

The truth seems to be that the RockHard promises were bigger than life. The claim is a full erection in 30 minutes: “in just 30 minutes after taking 1 simple capsule you will be Bigger, Harder, Longer, and Stronger™.” The claim continues that it will “give 72 hours of Sexcitement™.” “Party like a Porn Star” is one of their signatures.

That was not exactly my experience. Two hours after taking the pill, and while making love, I noticed no “bigger, harder, longer and stronger.” We went to sleep. After approximately 12 hours after taking Rockhard Weekend, I awoke noting, again, not much to write about. So, I decided to encourage my member. It did get big, hard, long and very strong. I showed my wife and she suggested we get right back in bed. We made love for over an hour and a half. It was still going! After breakfast, we returned to bed for some more loveplay. Another hour long of lovemaking. To be honest, I actually had to put a cold washcloth on big johnny to get a break and get dressed. Later that afternoon, the boy still felt like a 19 year-old! Unstoppable! Afternoon delight. And we made love again at night, approximately 24 hours after taking Rockhard Weekend. The hottest Fourth of July on record.

That was the true end of the pill’s effect. But I had to continue experimenting with the 72-hour claim. 72 hours is (3) 24-hour days. The next morning, it all seemed back to normal. No ultra-readiness to get engorged. We started making love, but decided to wait until after work. We were a bit worn out. Our lovemaking that night was great, but without the intensity we’d had the day before.

Day 3 was a No Rockhard Weekend Day. All of the symptoms were gone including the mild headache that we surmise was due to the vasodilators. Also, I had to deal with the ache of so much physical activity from Day 1.

The product is being promoted by Playboy and Maxim and will be distributed in California through bars, lounges, nightclubs, liquor stores, markets, recreational venues, major retailers and chain stores as well as online.

After all is said and done, even though our window was 24 hours, not 72, we are ready to order a full bottle this time. 4.5 stars out of 5.

Flirting with Desire

Aphrodisiacs are all about increasing sexual desire. Maybe we want to add to our own desire, or we want to add aphrodisiacs to a shared meal. Aphrodisiacs are often linked to sensuality, such as would be experienced with finger foods, sweet tastes, the flush that comes from wine… So when taking an aphrodisiac in a pill form, the sexual associations natural aphrodisiacs offer are often missed. And since desire is essential to sexual activity, how does the sex pill user heap desire upon desire until he or she is ready to pop? I mean, isn’t that the goal?

Even using Viagra requires some desire. Taking penis pills does not create an immediate erection or insane sex drive.

Flirting is a great turn-on I recommend. It has been part of our makeup long before we had ideas about marriage or monogamy. It includes the daring look into someone’s eyes, smiling, winking, playful touching, shifting of weight, open gestures and teasing. And as enjoyable as it is, it is surprising to me that so many of us leave flirting behind once the honeymoon is over.

Could this level of sexual excitement be too taxing to continue? Have we lost the way to the flirting bar? Are we too bored to get sexually excited about our partner? Has our partner given up on flirting? All these factors probably play into our low ebb of flirtation.

I believe we stop flirting with our beloved for one or more of these reasons…1. It takes mental effort to put us in a sexually charged or receptive mood. (So we reach for a sex pill to change that.) 2. We have stopped thinking positively about this person and we are stuck with this concept. (And we hope a sex pill will drive our sexuality over our personal shortcomings.) 3. Our bodies are not engaged. (So we reach for a chemical, or pill, to alter our bodies.) 4. We are not in a playful mood. (Note that I did not say, “we have lost our youthful, playful spirit.” A playful mood is a mood, not a state reserved for youthful, hormonally charged bodies.)

Sex pills are becoming part of our arsenal to get back into the groove of great sex. But let’s not forget the importance of desire of the level that makes our body tingle. Desire is essential. Try flirting and don’t give up because you are not used to it. It takes some practice to get your mojo going. Flirting is actually very natural when you are interested in someone, but like all good things, trial and error will improve the technique, the results and the ease. Flirting puts desire straight into your body because flirting is in large part body language.

There are plenty of places to learn about flirting, including the Internet. (No, you are not surprised, but have you done it?) Get more opinions about it than from your close group of friends. Ask people what they like in others when they are flirting. Ask men and women. Ask your spouse or lover. Then take your sex pills to their best advantage.

And stay tuned for more flirty sex talk.

Getting Lucky

Getting Lucky

Reading “Ask the Dating Gamer” in the July '09 issue of Maxim magazine, I was struck by the confusion about sex. One reader wrote asking about the stress guys feel delivering pick up line after pick up line “in a constant parade of humiliation.” Yes, he wanted to “get lucky” like many men we all know. The host, Jessica Chabot wrote that she had no idea what the guy was complaining about. It seems to her that the girls have to do all the work of seduction and the guys were mostly lame. She blasted him. “Grow some man-meat under that johnson of yours, stand up and ask that damn chick out!”

Everyone wants to get lucky. But who makes the first move on luck? Men or Women? Don't both get lucky if a good match is found? Are women the unlucky party, responsible for the man's feeling of being unlucky? Or are men the unlucky party with the burden of making the first move? And, is it unlucky to be turned down by someone that is a bad match?

Getting laid isn't as simple as getting lucky. We sometimes prefer that luck would smile at us and get us laid, but getting laid regularly often requires planning. Planning for romance, planning to succeed, planning to be confident, planning to be comical...

Oh, yes. A sense of humor would pay off big time. Guys, while this advice is not about being overly cocky, a sense of humor goes a long, long way. Besides attracting women, a sense of humor helps in terms of the process we endure as males. If you are lighthearted about dating and socializing, those dates are found, almost like luck. But if you perceive dating as an onerous chore of being turned down incessantly, the right match is always somewhere else.

Luck is happenstance. By contrast, a good sense of humor is usually an intentional choice. It also makes you appear sexy to women. According to some dating gurus, a good sense of humor is the one first thing women look for in a match. Humor is way more important than looks, job, money or car. And the good news is, a good sense of humor is free. Simply cultivate it, choose it, hone it, play it, learn it and find out how lucky you get.

I recommend Martin Merrill's e-book, “Make Women Laugh.” Read it thoroughly and start to daily follow his suggestions to live lightheartedly. Think good naturedly all the time. And after you catch that wonderful woman that laughs with you, and you have made a commitment to her, keep that book close. You will need to keep her laughing. She will not wander looking for a good time. You will be her good time and she will love you for that.

Criticism and sexual response

Criticism is deadly. It hurts lovers, families, best friends, and it definitely affects sexual response. A man may be critical of his smallish penis in comparison to some ideal. A woman may be critical of her figure or style to attract a desirable man. Many male partners criticize their other half and are short on compliments while female partners are often critical of her man's ignorance of her body and sexual needs, thus spoiling the attraction necessary for fulfilling sex.

Criticism is more than deadly, it is easy. I believe it is so easy because it is a naturally expressed frustration with not knowing something. The brain can only perceive things as a whole unit and creates fantasies to fill in the gaps of what is not known. When this lack of information is realized, the brain struggles with the confusion and quickly blames outside influences for screwing up a "perfectly functional line of reason."

There is an equally easy solution for criticism. 1. Shut up. 2. Listen. 3. Find out what misinformation has caused the confusion and made you upset.

For instance: your lover criticizes you for a purchase. You feel hurt and attacked. Instead of reacting with criticism, you shut up and listen. You discover that his mother painted his room that color when he was fighting with her. He has since hated that color. Now you know him better. His color preference is biased and you know not to try to please him with anything of that color.

Once you have heard the information and adjusted your reaction, the need to find fault is reduced or eliminated. And by shutting up and listening, you have the benefit of less stress. By filling your brain's gaps with better information, your world opens up, you can perceive new patterns and you are one more step removed from fear.

Try listening and less reactive criticism and watch your sex life grow in response. You may find that instead of criticizing your penis for its size or response, there are health factors or relationship factors in the way. You may find out that instead of criticizing your fat or figure, there are many other attractive things about you that are worth exploiting and feeling good about. There is no pill to take for this, but you can do it and discover your own natural power.

The Pill Mentality

The Pill Mentality

We Americans love pills. Is it because they offer a simple solution? Because we think we can get results without working at it? Because we don’t feel ready to give our ills the attention they cry for? I believe we love pills, very much like snake oil, because the pill appeals to our basic, and immature reach for shortcuts. Pills, ready conclusions, silver bullets, the “answer man” and so forth are ways for us to move on without having to do all the research ourselves. It’s ok if we know that we are taking shortcuts. It’s ok if we realize that we are missing oodles of information in the process.

The sex pill phenomenon is a similar approach to sexual health. Men and women, but especially men, have been buying up the sex pills in record numbers and recommending them to their male friends. Sex pills that promise a great sexual response have a way of turning a man’s head, so to speak. The sex pills aren't being used just by men suffering from erectile dysfunction. Almost any man alive wants more sex, better sex, and longer lasting sex. A sex pill means we can “just do it.”

What if there were natural ways to get a similar, or better sexual lift? There are. But the natural methods don’t
A. Have a crack marketing team behind them,
B. Have a former US Presidential candidate or pro athletes as a spokesmen,
C. Have immediate “turn on the switch” results, or
D. Have consistent formulary reactions from user to user.
Hence, the silver bullet approach.

It is sad to me because we can do so much for ourselves by improving our health to get better sexual response, learning about our bodies and their sexual parts, studying romance and
learning to understand the opposite sex. These methods won’t get headlines, but there is more good news to the natural approach… we can instruct others in ways that are healthy and promote great sex AND by learning and being healthy, we have less fear in our lives.

When it comes down to it, we love the pill approach because the pill allies our fears. We fear being inadequate, inept, not in control, too old, too unattractive; we fear failure, disappointing our date, gossip about our poor performance… A pill, not unlike snake oil, can boost our self-esteem, confidence and expectations- huge factors in our success in bed. But it is all based on fear instead of knowledge, with a focus on drooping down the slippery slope instead of maintaining our health.

I am not saying, “Don’t try sex pills.” I try them out for fun, myself. Sexual pleasure, like life itself, feeds on variety. So try some variety. Learn about these pills by studying their ingredients and rating your response on www.rateaphrodisiacs.com . But don’t just take a pill. The fear and loss of confidence will only return to wail on you another day.

Why Body Size is not an Aphrodisiac

Here’s an important question to ask, “Why do we think body size is an important factor in sexual desire and attraction?” I know that this may come as a shock to those that have invested much time, energy and money into sculpting their bodies into icons of contemporary sexual availability, but fat women get laid more often than thinner ones. That is the latest report spread across the Internet last October as a result of a study by the National Survey of Family Growth.

Researchers at The University of Hawaii and Oregon State University analyzed data gathered from the 2002 study. They reported that overweight women are actually having more heterosexual sex than women of "normal" weight. Various opinions were blogged or newscast including, “No Shit!” and “And, as we all know, every attractive woman with big breasts is a complete whore.” Dr. Bliss Kaneshiro of the School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii and co-author of the study also seemed baffled, "These results were unexpected and we don't really know why this is the case."

Perhaps it is time to release ourselves of the burden of the stereotype that only slim or normal weight women are attractive. People are attracted to each other for many reasons and body mass may not be the most important factor. I, for one, have always been attracted to a large woman that acts sexy. On the other hand, any size woman that acts embarrassed or judges herself unworthy of attention for lack of a petite or waif look is too uncomfortable with herself to be comfortable to me.

Many insist “in the name of all that is right and holy” that fat women are less attractive. But facts are facts and many, perhaps a majority, of men find oversized women attractive. My experience of dating was mixed. Thin model types seemed more aloof and demanding, attractive as they might be. Larger women were sometimes better company. “Sexy” for me is not based largely on size, but attitude, energy, creativity, honesty and willingness to trust. A five- foot-one, petite but busty blond with lots of style and athleticism is a sad partner if she is dishonest, bitchy, dull or cold.

When you meet Dr. Bliss, tell her your opinion “how this could be.” I am doing my part. Poor Bliss. At least her study was awarded first prize at the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists’ annual meeting in 2008, and bodes well for women of all body types.

Sexual Desire and Health

Our website Rate Aphrodisiacs.com is a place to post and rate the many aphrodisiacs that are advertised or part of world culture. Often they are herbs and concoctions that raise libido or improve health for better sexual response in men and women. This blog is another venue for that, but I also allow myself to write about other forms of sexual enhancements that are not product oriented.

Sexual desire is a multi-dimensional beast. It has been said by many that our largest sex organ is between our ears, meaning, for one thing, that about anything we think is sexy raises sexual desire. We have all heard of "strange" sexual preferences, perversions and fetishes that exist in people's minds.

Health may not one of the first places we think of when we think of being sexier, although "I want to look great naked" gets close. Libido seems intimately connected with our general health and is something we can feel when our bodies feel strong, supple and young. Exercise can definitely improve our sex life. But the real value is not so much about looking sexy for someone else. The main benefit is feeling fully alive and invigorated. There are no real pills or herbs that can do for us what exercise does.

I do not mean to recommend taking exercise to the point of pain on a regular basis, even if it does get you laid. Pain is not sexy. I am talking about exercise to the point of invigoration. This can be accomplished in many ways, including in the bedroom. Wake up to this great news: research is showing that making love three times a week for a year is considered as health boosting as running 75 miles over the course of that year. This may not replace a minimal health regimen of 3 days a week of raising your heart rate for 30 minutes, but it sounds pretty awesome.

Great health is obviously beneficial to sexual function, but perhaps the best recommendation for exercise is how good you can feel when all your systems are pumping oxygen, blood, lymph, hormones and heightened body awareness. With exercise, the entire body can more completely enjoy being stimulated and prepped for kissing, rubbing, massaging, petting, fingering, stroking, airing, oiling, washing and drying. Exercise does not have to be boring or torturous; it can be jumping, biking, surfing, dancing or swimming. Just get the tingle going and the increased oxygen; but this time, as a pre-foreplay aphrodisiac.

Sexual Knowledge vs Shame

Imagine if learning to be a great lover was as natural as the easy-yet-complex physical skills of walking, talking or eye-hand coordination. What a beautiful world this would be!

One reason learning to be a great lover is more complex is that we learn about loving sexually after our ego has been established with fears, guilt and a sense of shame. These shame and fear-based feelings are taught to us at a young age by people who themselves are fearful and shamed by their nakedness and their sexual urgings within.

By the time we are of age to be “hormoney,” learning is much more complex. The hormones rage through our bodies and grow breasts, hips, pubic hair, and hard ons, as well as other changes to our body. The person we knew as our own self feels and looks different to us. We still know nothing about love except of a familial bonding type. When we are first exposed, a future of making love looks and sounds too weird for words.

This is a common experience unless you happened to grow up in a family or culture where nudity is natural and the facts of making love are not hidden in a dark closet. Sweden is known for being more advanced in this area. Italians seem to have a passion that is rather unrestrained. You may be able to identify other cultures you have encountered that were more relaxed than yours about sexuality or people you knew that had fewer inhibitions. Thank Heavens for them!

It is interesting to note that cultures down through history have had remedies for enhanced love-making, fertility and potency using herbs, ceremonies, clues of sexual availability with charms or decorations, etc. Sex was more clearly seen as a way of life and a way to propagate. Today, whether we grew up shamed about sexuality or not, we can learn much from studying the aphrodisiacs, sexual techniques and experiences of others. As we do, we can also imagine a healthier and more active sexual life for ourselves and those our life touches.

I encourage you to imagine a world that grows aphrodisiacs like alfalfa fields, that profits from love currency and teaches making love with passion, freedom, commitment, honesty and joy. This blog is our opportunity. I hope you take advantage.

Aphrodisiacs are for lovers

Loosely defined, aphrodisiacs are “love pick-me-ups.” They can be foods, herbs, music, memories, drinks and concoctions, visual cues (such as partial darkness, nudity or partial nudity), alluring looks, dancing or anything that makes us yearn for and give into deeper intimacy. While intimacy is desired by almost all of us, many of these “pick-me-ups” are considered taboo. Why is longing for love and, expressing the sexuality of love, so despised by our culture?

I believe love, especially sexual loving, is burdened with guilt and fear because we start out such poor lovers in a society that praises love in our great myths, scriptures, fairy tales, movies and literature. These fears and guilts of being sexual inhibit our learning curve. Additionally, the stories don't tell us that loving requires effort, deep communication, trust, and vulnerability mixed with a great deal of persistence.

Let's face it, being a great lover is something we may individually aspire to, yet there is very little social support for learning or achieving it. Add to that all kinds of fears if "caught" "doing it," and you can find yourself with a lack of sufficient learning opportunities.

Aphrodisiacs are tonics for getting past the inhibitions of loving without shame. We swallow aphrodisiacs to relax our nervousness about the learning process of being a better lover. Aphrodisiacs can warm and massage our bodies into the prospect of being loved. And in a way, aphrodisiacs are way for us to inject into our social contacts, a “general aphrodisiac” as a cure for our love-starved society.

Let’s drop the guilt and fears, play with aphrodisiacs and learn to be great lovers. Of course, she wants to go on a romantic trip again. She wants to relive her honeymoon.

It got me thinking that planning ahead is a value that women really cherish. Yes, it could be to a romantic get-away, or a dinner with wine and a surprise gift in a box too beautiful to ravish. But when we got married, we got caught up in the everyday needs and the bed wasn't just for making love anymore. It has to be made, sheets washed, mattress aired; it's used for reading, napping and an occasional board game.

But the worst of it isn't homemaking. That is nesting, a form of snuggling. The worst thing is that she doesn't see an indication, as before, that I am planning to romance her. I must make it plain, with a card, a surprise gift (no matter how small), a call that clearly communicates that I am thinking of her, a surprise night out...etc. I must show her that I am thinking of her without her prompting me, that I see something beautiful and it reminds me of her, that I want her so much I can't stop, that it is important to me to take time to add comfort to her life. Like a date or a trip, that doesn't happen without planning.

When thinking about trying aphrodisiacs and making a night of intimacy, if we do this by popping a Viagra type pill, what kind of romance is that? She may get laid, but will it satisfy her soul and add to the love that keeps going through the good and the bad? No, a woman wants connection with a person she can love, care for, trust, AND look forward and plan on being intimate with.

Guys, planning ahead isn't just to please your woman. Planning ahead is also a male aphrodisiac. You are creating your own sexual fantasy as you plan ahead to involve that special woman and what turns HER on. Planning ahead raises your anticipation, raises your receptors and increases your natural love drug, dopamine. Planning for love is a manly thing; you take the initiative and guide her to the place she can trust and fully let go into you.

If loving is important to you, and you don't have a partner yet, planning is the perfect sex pill. Find a romantic spot before you hit the bar you are hoping to find her. Introduce yourself to the hostess or maitre d' and have the table ready. Walk into the bar with a confidence that every woman there would rather know she is special and then tell the "one" that you have a place where you can be more romantic just around the corner. Assure her she will not look out of place because you have a table in a discreet corner of the room. Buy her a romantic meal. She will rave. And she may let you know in a particularly pleasing way.

The aphrodisiac is the planning. People used to call it courtship and its magic is all about the anticipation.

Trial of Extendium Aphrodisiac- to be continued

I just got my sample of Extendium in the mail. I have a 30 day trial before I have to pay the $29.95 and postage. They promise to not require payment if I am dissatisfied. But I will have to talk to customer service and get a return authorization. They don't tell me what the ingredients are on the letter, but the bottle indictates it contains Eurycoma Longifolia, Damina Leaf and Horny Goat Weed. All respected aphrodisiacs and a total of 960 mg!

I do approve of sending the pills without payment. It's a nice way to try without obligation. The Vazopren (Nutrisci) people who took my credit card before shipping, charged me for shipping, then around 50 dollars for the product 14 days later. They didn't offer my money back when I opted to stop the shipments because I had no results.

Apparently, Extendium is composed of a proprietary blend of natural aphrodisiacs. The letter tells me that I shouldn't expect the same results that were found in tests of the main ingredient with animals in previous tests. That's brilliant! Prop 65 (California) requires them to state that they know it contains an chemical that is known to cause birth defects and other reproductive harm.

Oddly enough my google searches don't show a single intelligle result for "extendium." It must be only offered by mail. Pure Vive has a website but there is absolutely no information there. Why don't they want business on the internet? I will give a post after a couple weeks of use.

I'm going to give them a call and see what kind of customer service they deliver.

Love and Research!
FANG

Aphrodisiacs in the Real World

My wife and I love our sex life. But being a man, I have this desire for even more. So, the idea occurred to me to try some of the natural sex pills that are advertised in the mail and see if they helped. My wife is willing to add some spice to the recipe, so here we are, trying out these so- called aphrodisiacs in pill form.

I had already tried the Viagra thing, Cialis and Levitra, but they have serious known side effects. A natural aphrodisiac would be preferable. Assuming, and that could be a rather large assumption, that these products are using natural substances known for their aphrodisiac effect, how will I find time to try them all out? So, I thought, what if we shared some with friends? What if we shared the success or failure of these with other lovers? What if they shared with us how hot they got, how driven they were, how long it took, how long it lasted, etc?

Here's my dream, besides spending more time making love to my wife: open the floodgates of shared real life sexual experience with the world. Here is what would happen: besides shortening the time it takes to find real results in the bedroom and drastically reducing the costs involved, the industry would have to improve their products instead of repackaging the old stuff that didn't work.

I believe that natural aphrodisiacs do work. I have heard testimony of, well, acquaintances. I have had some minor successes, myself. And is there better out there? I believe there is. Together we can find them. And together we can identify the frauds.

The new website my wife and I have created http://www.rateaphrodisiacs.com/ is one place to do that. Here we propose to listen to your results and you can read about our results and others'. Natural ingredients are identified as the herbs, minerals, amino acids and other nutrients that are known to improve libido, blood flow, sexual desire and more. Other aphrodisiacs are also discussed, all of them natural, such as romantic things to say and do, places to go to make love, sexy things to read and more.

More postings will enlarge and define this dream of adding more love to our overstressed lifestyles. I hope the information will fire up your love life, prompt deeper sexual encounters, and give you a hundred more reasons to smile.
